7th VH AWARD – Open Call for Media Artists Engaged with Asia

5 finalists each receive USD $30,000 production grant, Ars Electronica online residency with masterclasses, and international exhibitions at Vision Hall (Korea), HEK (Switzerland), Ars Electronica Festival (Austria), and Singapore Art Week 2028. Grand Prix winner receives an additional USD $30,000.

The 7th VH AWARD, presented by the Hyundai Motor Group, invites emerging and mid-career media artists worldwide to submit screen-based audiovisual work that engages with the cultural, historical, or emotional context of Asia. Eligible applicants include artists of Asian descent, those based in Asia, or members of the Asian diaspora globally. Works must be original, unpublished, and suitable for single-channel presentation, with accepted formats including video art, animation, motion graphics, and experimental film. Five finalists will receive substantial production funding to develop new commissioned works and participate in a structured online residency from September 2026 through June 2027. The competition has supported breakthrough artists since 2016 and offers one of the most significant production-to-exhibition pipelines in contemporary media art.

Plains Conservation Center - Eagle Nesting Site - Aurora, CO

$67,500 commission budget; $675 honorarium for finalists

The City of Auroraas Art in Public Places Program invites Indigenous artists to apply for a permanent outdoor sculpture commission at the Plains Conservation Center. The selected artist will create a three-dimensional work sited within a roundabout near an eagle nesting area on the 1,100-acre shortgrass prairie preserve. The artwork should reflect the ecological, cultural, and historical significance of the shortgrass prairie and serve as a landmark for visitors. Applicants must be members of federally recognized Tribal Nations associated with Colorado or communities affected by the Indian Relocation Act of 1956. Total commission budget is $67,500. Application is free.

Southwest Photography Exhibition

Royal Society of Marine Artists Annual Exhibition 2026

The Royal Society of Marine Artists holds its Annual Exhibition at Mall Galleries in London, seeking art inspired by the sea and the marine environment - harbours and shorelines, traditional craft and contemporary shipping, creeks, beaches and coastal wildlife, in short anything involving tidal water. Artists submit through the Open Exhibition Submission System, with a non-refundable fee of £22 per work or £14.50 for artists aged 35 or under, which includes free admission. Selected works are delivered in early September and shown at the gallery later that month. The open call runs from April 13 to July 24, 2026, and is open to all.

All That's Pretty and Green (Botanical Art and Illustration)

All That's Pretty and Green is a botanical-themed juried exhibition from Las Laguna Art Gallery in Laguna Beach, California, seeking works that explore plants including flowers, trees, leaves, cactus, and succulents. Every artist who submits will be accepted and have at least one submitted work posted and promoted on the gallery website, with selected artists shown in the physical gallery.

Barber Park Recreation Center RFQ

Total commission budget $29,100; artists invited to submit a site-specific proposal receive a $300 design stipend.

Orange County Parks and Recreation, with the Orange County Public Art Review Board, seeks a professional artist or artist team to create original site-specific public art for the new Barber Park Recreation Center in southeast Orlando, Florida. The work should create a playful, interactive environment connected to the lakeside park, which includes playgrounds, a dog park, skatepark, and hockey rink. Proposals may include light-play canopies, shade structures with seating, and kinetic or sensory elements. Final proposals are due October 1, with installation expected in 2027.

A.R.M. Holding Public Art Commission, Huna Sculpture Park at H Residence

A.R.M. Holding, in partnership with Art Dubai, invites artists to propose a new permanent, site-specific sculpture for the Huna Sculpture Park at H Residence in Dubai. The commission responds to a theme of collective resilience and renewal. Open to UAE-based, regional and international artists and artist-gallery partnerships with experience in permanent or large-scale outdoor installation.

City of Lewisville College Street Enhancement Art Benches

The City of Lewisville, Texas seeks qualifications from artists to design six art benches for the redeveloped College Street, extending the public art and seating approach first used along Main Street in 2019. Selection considers creativity, site appropriateness, ADA compliance and durability against harsh Texas weather.
