About this call
In the summer of 2027 the Hasselblad Foundation will present Fotosalongen for the second time, Sweden's largest photography salon. Amateur and professional photographers working across all genres are invited to submit work through an open call that runs from 1 August to 18 October 2026. There is no set theme. The Foundation welcomes work ranging from documentary photography and photojournalism to nature, family, street, science, politics and art photography, and says the jury will look for compelling images and photographic narratives that show depth, originality and a diversity of expression. The exhibition at Hasselblad Center is built to create unexpected encounters between established artists, emerging talents and photographers whose work has not previously been shown publicly. The jury is Alexandra Ellis, curator at the Sune Jonsson Centre for Documentary Photography at Vasterbottens museum; the film director Tarik Saleh; the photographer Elisabeth Toll; and Dragana Vujanovic Ostlind, jury chair and chief curator at the Hasselblad Foundation. Entry is free. Photographers whose work is selected receive a participation fee of SEK 3,200, are included in the catalogue, and show at Hasselblad Center from 23 April to 26 September 2027. The Foundation buys a number of works for its permanent collection, and everything in the exhibition is offered for sale with the profits going to the photographers.
