About this call

La Nueva Fábrica (LNF), a nonprofit contemporary art space in a former textile factory in Antigua, Guatemala, opens its 2027-2028 residency cycle to emerging and established artists, curators and cultural practitioners from Guatemala and around the world. The residency is research-based rather than production-driven, with no requirement to produce a final work, and is open to all career stages and artistic mediums. Each residency lasts 4 to 8 weeks, coordinated with the LNF team, between September 1, 2027 and June 30, 2028. LNF selects five residents a year. Residents receive a USD 2,000 stipend, housing in a fully equipped house on site, airport transfers from and to La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City, and curatorial and logistical support; national and international travel to LNF is the resident's responsibility. Duos may apply together and applicants with children are welcome. Applications in English or Spanish are reviewed by an independent jury (Andrei Fernández, Helena Lugo and Cindy Sissokho); finalist interviews take place on Zoom on December 16, 2026 and residents are announced on January 18, 2027.
