About this call

The Elephant Trust, founded in 1975 by Roland Penrose and Lee Miller, gives grants to artists and to small organisations and galleries in the United Kingdom so they can make new work or produce exhibitions. Grants are usually between £2,000 and £5,000, and the main fund is open to all by application. Priority goes to artists in the fine arts and to small organisations and galleries with imaginative proposals. Projects must take place in the UK, and projects with a total budget over £30,000 are not supported.

  • Open to all by application; priority to artists in the fine arts and small organisations and galleries proposing new work or exhibitions. Projects must take place in the UK. Not funded: arts festivals, group exhibitions, charities organising community projects, students, educational or other studies, residencies or research, symposia or conferences, theatres, catalogues. Projects with a total budget over £30,000 are not supported. Successful applicants should wait at least two years before reapplying for a new project. Apply through Submittable only (email applications are not accepted) by midnight on 18 October 2026; the Trustees may discard any application that does not follow the application format. If you have not heard within 6 weeks of the deadline, the application was not successful.
