The Old Lock Up Gallery Residency 2026

The Old Lock Up Gallery in Cromford, Derbyshire, near the Peak District National Park, offers self-directed week-long artist residencies several times a year. Residents have 24/7 access to a well-equipped gallery space with lighting, a log-burning stove, kitchenette and separate toilet, with overnight stays in the gallery owner's home. Land Art Residency

neimënster in Luxembourg invites visual artists, designers, and scenographers to apply for a Land Art residency creating ephemeral works from natural, organic, or biodegradable materials. The program includes a four-week research phase followed by two weeks of creation and installation, supported by a studio, production budget, and technical assistance.

neimënster Advent Residency

Residency grant of 4,000 euro per project plus 1,000 euro for the installation week, a production budget, workshop space, lodging if needed, and technical and logistical support.

neimënster, the cultural centre at the former Neumünster Abbey in Luxembourg, invites artists across all disciplines to a five-week Advent residency. Selected artists develop and install a project relating to winter traditions and folklore, presented to the public over four weekends in late November and December 2026.

Clark Centre for the Arts 2027 Artist Residency Program

The Clark Centre for the Arts, a City of Toronto cultural centre at Guild Park and Gardens, invites Toronto-based emerging and mid-career artists to its 2027 residency. Artists think, experiment and create in a lakeside setting, concluding with a one-month exhibition in Gallery 191. The program prioritises artists from equity-deserving communities.

RostockStipendium 2027 (Visual Arts)

Monthly stipend of 1,500 EUR for two to four months, plus use of the studio apartment (Atelierwohnung) at the Schleswig-Holstein-Haus Rostock.

RostockStipendium 2027 is a visual arts residency stipend awarded by the city of Rostock. Selected artists receive a monthly stipend of 1,500 EUR for two to four months and the use of a studio apartment at the Schleswig-Holstein-Haus Rostock. The 2027 edition is open to visual artists working in painting, graphics, sculpture, photography, illustration, performance and video art. Students are not eligible; artists with children and artist groups are especially encouraged to apply.

Werkstattwoche 2027 International Artist Residency, Lüben

Werkstattwoche turns the village of Lüben into an international place of art from 1 to 12 July 2027, bringing together professional artists and students in painting, sculpture, photography and video, installation, and performance. There is no application or participation fee, and accommodation and meals in the village are provided free of charge. A travel cost subsidy may be offered where needed.

Terre Sauvage pour le Vivant (Wild Land for Life) Creation Residencies

Free four-week residency at one of three sites in France, plus a 1,000 euro stipend for living costs. 3 residents selected.

A creation residency from the Terre & Fils Foundation (under Fondation de France) welcoming writers, philosophers, and artists for four weeks at one of three sites in France (Radenec island in Morbihan, Porquerolles in Var, Grand-Bornand in Haute-Savoie). Projects should engage with wild nature, the knowledge and protection of natural habitats, and the interactions between human societies and these ecosystems. Three winners are selected; each receives a free four-week stay plus a 1,000 euro living stipend.

PERFORMA-Q: Queer Stories from Europe's Periphery, Residency Cycle 1

Stipend EUR 1,500-4,000; travel & accommodation covered; mentorship

PERFORMA-Q invites performing arts professionals to develop work centred on queer stories from Europe's periphery during a 2-4 week residency. The first cycle runs October 2026 to April 2027 across partner venues in Slovakia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Austria and Sweden. Selected residents receive a stipend of EUR 1,500-4,000, with travel and accommodation covered as separate budget lines, plus rehearsal space, technical support and tailored mentorship. Possible showcases at major festivals are part of the programme. It is open to theatre makers, directors, playwrights, dancers, performance artists and collectives based in the partner countries.

Call for Applications: Plug In ICA Fall Institute 2026

Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art in Winnipeg invites artists, writers, thinkers and cultural workers from all backgrounds to apply for its 2026 Fall Institute, a professional program with no application or participation fee. Participants cover their own travel and accommodation in Winnipeg.

The Residency at Casa Gràcia 2027

Dedicated private space; some residents qualify for a modest stipend; three visual artists (up to 3 months) and two writers (up to 6 months) selected each year

The Residency at Casa Gracia, founded by artists Rashid Johnson and Sheree Hovsepian, provides artists and writers dedicated time and private space to develop their practice in the historic city of Mahon on Menorca, Spain. Five places are awarded each year: three visual artists for residencies of up to three months and two writers for up to six months. The residency is self-directed with no requirement to produce or publicly present work; it is conceived as a genuine retreat. Some residents qualify for a modest stipend. Artists and writers from the Balearic Islands, mainland Spain, and worldwide are welcome to apply.

Peters Valley School of Craft Guest Artist Residency

$600 (2 wks) / $900 (3 wks) stipend; free housing & studio access

Funded by the Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation, Peters Valley School of Craft in Layton, New Jersey offers fully funded guest artist residencies in November 2026. Two-week residencies run November 2 to 16 and three-week residencies run November 2 to 23. Selected artists receive a $600 stipend for two-week stays or $900 for three-week stays, along with a private room in a furnished shared house and unlimited access to fully equipped studios with utilities included. The program welcomes artists working in blacksmithing, ceramics, fibers, jewelry and fine metals, wood, or printmaking (printmaking limited to two weeks). Artists must have experience with the relevant tools and be able to work independently; a personal vehicle is required due to the rural campus. The application fee is $10.

Künstlerstadt Gmünd Artists in Residence 2027

Two-month working residency with free live/work studio in the Maltator (stipend not specified)

The Künstlerstadt Gmünd Artists in Residence program offers a two-month working residency in the Maltator in the medieval artists' town of Gmünd in Carinthia, Austria. Since 1993 more than 180 artists from around the world have taken part, and the program remains open internationally. Residents receive a free live/work studio space; applicants are selected following the July 31 deadline, with notifications of acceptance or rejection sent by the end of September. The historic town and surrounding alpine landscape provide a distinctive setting for focused work.
