About this call
KIBLA in Maribor, Slovenia, invites 2 artists, researchers and interdisciplinary practitioners to the OASis Residency from 19 to 27 November 2026. Working across analog and digital media, residents explore the meeting of nature and technology, including AR, VR, MR, XR and artificial intelligence, and the cultural and natural heritage of the Maribor region. Work is developed in KIBLA PORTAL, a former textile factory; KIBLA also runs KIBLA2LAB, a media lab equipped with 3D scanning, photogrammetry and XR equipment. The residency is part of OASis, a network co-funded by the EU Creative Europe programme.

- Applicants must reside in an EU Member State or a country eligible under the Creative Europe programme. Residency 19 to 27 November 2026 in Maribor; 2 artists are selected. Send by email to kibla@kibla.org: CV or bio (link or PDF, max 10 MB), portfolio or website, an artistic proposal (max 300 words or 10 slides PDF) covering motivation, engagement with the local community, concept, materials and methods, and production needs, an optional video or audio up to 3 minutes, and one clear photo showing your face. KIBLA is looking for proposals that address the city's people and society, are artistically original in relation to the local context, can be research-driven in the context of art and media culture, and show strong artistic quality and uniqueness. Proposals are judged on artistic quality and relevance to the theme, originality and feasibility of co-creation strategies, and willingness to collaborate with local communities. Accommodation may be private or shared; materials and production support is agreed in advance. Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a short online interview; results by 26 October 2026.
