About this call
The Winter Residency is a collaboration between the Museum for Art in Wood and the membership-based makerspace NextFab, now in its seventh session. A jury of makers and educators awards one fellowship to an artist from the Greater Philadelphia region who works in wood, alone or combined with other materials, and pursues research-based inquiry into sustainable creative practice. The fellow receives a stipend for project materials and access to NextFab's workshop. The residency runs January 4 to March 4, 2027, followed by a solo exhibition at NextFab (1800 N. American Street) from March 11 to June 10, 2027 and an artist talk on March 12, 2027. Jury results are sent by email the week of November 16, 2026.
