Botanical Dreamscapes Open Call

Selected works featured in a curated online exhibition. Prize amount not specified.

Anthology Gallery, an online contemporary art and curatorial platform, partners with Poetic Tiger Gallery to present "Botanical Dreamscapes," a group exhibition celebrating flora as living mythology. The curators seek work that treats botanical subjects as a portal where a single petal or tangled thicket can hold an entire interior world, spanning tenderness and strangeness, the cultivated and the wild, across all media. Artists 18 and older may submit up to two works created in 2025 or 2026. AI-generated work, NFTs, and copyright-infringing imagery are not accepted. Selected artists will be notified on 22 July 2026, with the exhibition opening 7 August 2026.

✦ PHOTOGRAPHY OPEN CALLS

Photography open calls, answered.

Photography has one of the busiest open-call circuits in the art world: international prizes, juried group shows, festival exhibitions, photobook awards, and residencies that welcome lens-based practices.

This page gathers every live call on Arthead tagged for photography, from documentary and fine-art photography to experimental lens-based work, each verified by hand with deadline, fee, and eligibility shown.

What kinds of photography open calls exist?
Competitions and prizes with cash or publication awards, juried exhibitions in galleries and festivals, photobook and portfolio awards, and residencies open to lens-based artists. Some calls are photography-specific; others are all-media calls that explicitly accept photographic work.
Do photography competitions keep rights to my images?
Reputable calls license images only for promoting the exhibition or award, and say so explicitly. Rights-grabbing terms, where entry transfers broad commercial usage, are a red flag worth checking in the official rules before entering. Arthead links the official terms on every listing.
How should I choose which photography calls to enter?
Look at the jurors, past selected work, and what selection actually gives you: exhibition, publication, cash, or representation. A smaller show judged by a curator you respect often does more for a practice than a large contest with anonymous judging.
