About this call
500 Capp Street, the San Francisco house and living sculpture of conceptual artist David Ireland, runs an annual open call in San Francisco, United States, for one artist to develop an exhibition there in Summer 2027 (July to September). The program invites artists working across disciplines and mediums to engage with the house as a site of inquiry and experiment, with particular interest in practices that challenge the line between art and everyday life. Projects may be installations, interventions, sculpture, performance, research-based or interdisciplinary work. The selected artist receives a $5,000 honorarium, up to $10,000 toward production, fabrication, research, public programs and travel, curatorial support, and access to the Paule Anglim Archive Room and the David Ireland Archive and Papers, working with curator Lian Ladia. An onsite residency at the house may be arranged when it supports the project.
