Ottawa School of Art Call for Exhibition Proposals 2027-2028
About this call
The Ottawa School of Art invites artists and collectives to submit proposals for its 2027-2028 exhibition season at two Ottawa venues: the J.W. Stellick Gallery in the ByWard Market and the Orleans Campus Gallery in the Shenkman Arts Centre. Work in all media is welcome, including painting, sculpture, photography, installation and video, and group exhibition proposals are accepted. Proposals may be submitted for one venue or both, but successful candidates exhibit at one gallery only, and an application to both must show a clear understanding of how the exhibition would work within each gallery's dimensions. A jury of three art professionals reviews complete submissions within five weeks and judges on the quality of the work, the integrity of the proposal, and its relationship to OSA's programs. Selected artists receive an Ontario CARFAC exhibition fee. Artists cover shipping, insurance, travel, and any special display equipment such as projectors, screens and stands.

- Submit via WeTransfer.com to boutique@artottawa.ca by 4:30 p.m. ET on 4 September 2026. All six components are required: application cover form, exhibition proposal, one exhibition artist statement per proposal, up-to-date CV (one per artist for group proposals), a maximum of 10 visual files of work completed in the last two years, and a numbered visual file list with title, year, medium and dimensions. Images must be JPG, 300dpi, under 2MB each, RGB, maximum 1240 pixels on either side; each video counts as one file, total video time per proposal must not exceed 15 minutes, in AVI, MOV or MP4 under 500MB each. External image or video links such as YouTube or Vimeo are not accepted. Proposals sent by post, hand delivery or plain email will not be accepted, and incomplete proposals are withdrawn without notification.
