About this call

View Arts Center runs Wearable Art as a juried show that treats the body as a surface for making. It looks for original handmade garments and accessories built with fiber and textile methods such as quilting, felting, weaving, stitching, embroidery, crochet and knitting, plus wearable sculpture and mixed-media work. The gallery says it is most interested in pieces that leave ordinary apparel behind and push toward sculptural, experimental or conceptual dress. Entry costs 25 dollars for one work, or 20 dollars for View members, with extra images charged separately. The show hangs inside the larger Quilts Unlimited exhibition from October 2 to November 28, 2026, with a reception and awards evening on opening day. Selected artists are notified by August 28 and must get work to the gallery by September 18. Anything needing a mannequin or custom support should arrive with it. Sold work carries a 35 percent gallery commission and shipping is at the artist's expense.
