About this call
The 5th Larnaca Biennale in Cyprus runs from October 13 to November 26, 2027 under the theme 'Metatopies: Geographies in Motion', curated by Niki Papaspirou and Marios Fournaris. Artists are invited to submit works drawing on the concept of shifting as shaped through geological, anthropological, social, political and historical conditions, approaching place as an event and a constellation of relations, flows and traces. Applications are evaluated by an international jury. Selected works are shown in established exhibition venues in central Larnaca, and outdoor installations are added to the Biennale map. The Biennale grants a total of 13+ awards, announced at the opening ceremony on October 13, 2027: the Grand Prix, three Awards of Excellence, six Awards of Distinction, an award for best presentation by a Cypriot artist, and the 'Artist of the world' and 'Artist of the Mediterranean' awards given by WAVA World Association of Visual Arts.
