About this call
The eighth Experimental Photo Festival, organised by the Barcelona-based Asociación Experimentalphotofestival, selects 12 artists or projects for 12 solo exhibitions in Barcelona, Spain, in July 2027. There is no fixed theme: the festival welcomes analogue, digital, historical, alternative, hybrid and expanded photographic practices, including work combined with installation, video, sound or other disciplines, and projects may be finished, in progress or previously exhibited. Each solo exhibition artist receives a €150 artist fee, a production budget of up to €200 managed by the festival, access to the 12-month Ágora Diploma in Experimental Photography (valued at €999, not exchangeable for cash), festival access, lunches, merchandise, curatorial and production support and priority access to accommodation at Col·legi Major Penyafort-Montserrat (costs not covered). The jury may also select a group exhibition with a €150 artist fee each, and 20 further artists for an online feature in Analog Forever Magazine. The group exhibition stays on view until December 2027. Venues include Centre Cívic Pati Llimona and MUHBA Porta de Mar; some exhibitions will be installed in time for the IPFA Meeting in Barcelona from 30 June to 4 July 2027, and the festival's current dates are 21 to 25 July 2027.
