About this call

Higher Art Gallery in Traverse City, Michigan, United States, is calling for functional cups and mugs in any medium for its CUPS show, running April 10 to May 10 in the gallery and in its online shop. The gallery asks for the craziest, whackiest, coolest cups: odd shapes, cups that mimic nature, animal mugs, or the most refined cups with handmade glaze. Any medium is considered as long as the cup holds liquid.

• Cups and mugs must be fully functional (able to hold liquid); any medium. Up to 2 cups per artist. Email JPEGs to higherartgallery@gmail.com with "CUPS" in the subject line, giving retail price, materials and dimensions; send good quality images, which may be used to market the show. Acceptance is notified on a rolling basis. Accepted work must reach the gallery by April 3, marked on the bottom with the artist's initials and price. Gallery/artist split is 50/50; unsold work typically stays in the gallery for the summer to be shown and sold to summer visitors. The page gives these dates without a year; the deadline shown is the next March 20.
