About this call
The Nordic Analog Network, coordinated by CYAN Studio in Oslo, Norway, and the Finnish Darkroom Association in Helsinki, connects photography darkrooms through its Darkroom Exchange residency programme, supported by Nordic Culture Point. For 2027 six darkrooms each invite one photographer working with analog photography: Mörk (Finland, 8 weeks, February to March), Island Darkroom (Scotland, 3 weeks, March), Fotoverkstedet (Norway, 3 weeks, April to May), Luovake (Finland, 3 to 5 weeks, August to November), CYAN Studio (Norway, 3 to 5 weeks, April to June or August to September) and Björkö Darkroom (Sweden, 4 weeks, September). Accommodation is organised by the host darkroom and residents receive an artist's fee of 15,000 NOK, or 18,000 NOK with a sustainable travel option, to cover travel and living costs. The round's theme is sustainable photography: residents either take or teach a workshop on it, with teachers paid a fee (Island Darkroom looks for an artist who can give a talk on the theme at a community event), while remaining free to work on their own projects.
