About this call
HIAP Helsinki International Artist Programme and Sumud invite professional Palestinian contemporary artists to apply for a three-month residency in Helsinki, Finland, during Spring 2027. Part of the Ukraine Solidarity Residency Programme expanded since 2026 to include Palestinian artists, the residency does not require new work production or an exhibition outcome. Hosted at Cable Factory, Helsinki largest cultural complex, it provides a combined living and working studio (63 sqm) suitable for one artist or a small family. Artists join HIAP community events, mentoring, and open studios throughout the residency.

- Open to professional Palestinian contemporary artists residing in Palestine or the diaspora, working in contemporary visual and interdisciplinary practices. No specific production output required. Studios accommodate two adults or small families. Applicants needing a Finnish Visitor Visa should apply well in advance.
