About this call

This open call is for Ukrainian and Ukraine-based artists to undertake residencies in Finland between January and July 2027, as part of the Ukraine Solidarity Residencies Programme, supported by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture. Residencies last one to three months with the possibility of extension and are hosted across the 2027 partner network: HIAP on Suomenlinna island, Art Centre Salmela in Mäntyharju, Vantaa Artists Association, Värtsilä Art House, Nelimarkka Museum in Alajärvi, Fairres in Porvoo and AARK on the island of Korpo. Some residencies can host artists with family members, up to four people. Residents receive free living and working space, one return trip and a working grant of €1,200 per month.

  • For professional Ukrainian or Ukraine-based artists and arts practitioners who have been affected by the war, from all disciplines. Apply only through the online form, in English; answers may be written, audio or video. Required: professional background and current situation (each up to 250 words or two minutes) and a portfolio link (max 10 pages or five minutes). You can state your preferred residency length and location in the form.
