About this call

The Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre in Springbank, near Calgary, invites visual artists to apply for residency slots between June 2027 and June 2028. Residents work for typically 4 to 8 weeks in a clean, semi-private studio of about 200 square feet within the centre's 20-acre outdoor sculpture park, with access to KOAC's contemporary art library by appointment. The residency is self-directed and process-focused, with no mentorship component or art technicians. Each resident gives one public engagement session (an artist talk, workshop, open studio tour with Q&A or other event), paid with a CARFAC-aligned honorarium, and KOAC provides letters of support for grant applications, administrative support and, with advance discussion, marketing support and a limited budget for exhibitions or open studios. The residency does not include financial support, living accommodations, transportation or materials. The program runs nine months a year, closed in May, September and December.
