About this call
Est-Nord-Est, an artist residency centre in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Québec, Canada, invites professional visual artists, established or emerging, from Québec, Canada and other countries to apply for its eight-week regular residencies in 2027-2028. Four artists are hosted per season: spring (April 19 to June 11, 2027), summer (July 5 to August 27, 2027), fall (September 27 to November 19, 2027) and winter (January 24 to March 17, 2028). The residency includes a CAD 2,080 honorarium, an individual studio-workshop used for work and lodging, access to wood, metal and ceramics equipment, a documentation centre and technical, artistic and logistical support. The centre focuses on research and experimentation rather than production. The summer residency, Corps céleste, corps terrestre, is curated by Cécilia Bracmort and gives priority to artists of African descent while welcoming anyone whose practice resonates with its themes. Materials, travel and other living costs are at the residents' expense.
