About this call
An eleven-week, fully funded residency at Gasworks in London, United Kingdom, from 7 April to 22 June 2027, for an artist based in Brazil who has previously participated in the PIPA Prize, supported by The PIPA Foundation. Gasworks residencies are self-led, non-prescriptive and process-based, for researching and developing new work, engaging with the city and building networks. The selected artist receives a private studio with 24-hour access, a single room in Gasworks' shared Residency House, economy return flights and taxi transfers, all visa costs and visa support, a weekly stipend of £175, a materials budget of up to £800, a TFL zones 1+2 travel card, studio visits with staff, curators and artists, an Open Studio event on 13 June, and a residency page with a short video interview.

- Open to early-career contemporary visual artists based in Brazil who have previously participated in the PIPA Prize. Artists studying abroad with a permanent address in Brazil are eligible. Applicants need at least a moderate level of spoken English; interviews are in English. Individuals only: no duos or collectives, and partners or children cannot be accommodated, though artists who wish to spend time in London with their families may still apply if they arrange their own travel and accommodation separately. Gasworks prioritises artists who have not worked in London before. Artists are asked to be present for the full residency. Submit one PDF (max 15MB) through the form on the opportunity page with a cover sheet with contact details, a 250-word practice statement, a 250-word residency plan, up to 15 images or video/sound clips of recent work with captions, and a CV of no more than 3 pages. Shortlisted artists (3 to 5) have an online interview in the week of 23 November 2026.
