Temporary Mural Public Art Call for Artists
About this call
Scottsdale Public Art is looking for an artist or artist team to design and paint an exterior mural on a City of Scottsdale water riser and the adjacent concrete SRP well site. The location sits on the south side of Thomas Road between North 81st Way and North 82nd Street. The artwork theme should relate to water or to the SRP canal system. This is a request for qualifications, so proposals are not asked for at this stage, only past work, a CV, two references and a short statement of intent. The total project budget is 10,000 US dollars. The selected work stays on view for two years and is then painted over, and the artist should remain available for maintenance during that period. Installation is planned for March 2027 with deinstallation in March 2029. An artist selection panel picks one artist plus one alternate.
