About this call
The Agency for International Museum Cooperation, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, supports dialogue based exchange formats that connect museum professionals in Germany with colleagues around the world. The programme funds workshops, working meetings and training sessions on current questions of museum practice, either on site in partner countries or as digital and hybrid events. These formats are meant to serve as a starting point for long term partnerships that can later grow into joint exhibition and presentation projects. Cooperation between more than two institutions is welcome, and initiatives at a very early stage can apply as long as a shared working interest is clear.
Who can apply
- International applicants
- Medium: Curatorial
- Entry fee: See official site
- Applications may be submitted by museums of all disciplines, exhibition venues with or without collections, and memorial sites, whether based in Germany or abroad. At least one eligible partner institution based in Germany and one abroad must be actively involved. Applications from individuals cannot be considered, and the applying institution must be publicly accessible and not primarily profit oriented. Applicants must contribute at least 10 percent of the total budget as own funds, and in kind contributions do not count toward that share. Projects must begin no earlier than 1 January 2027 and finish no later than 30 September 2027, and may not have started at the time of application. Submission is via the application platform, with a letter of intent from the partner institutions and a copy of the applicant's official registration document.
