About this call

Composite Activities is a funding opportunity in the Canada Council for the Arts' Supporting Artistic Practice program. It provides multi-year activity support for Canadian artists, arts and cultural workers, artistic groups and organizations to carry out multiple, large or complex projects, for a period of up to three years. The opportunity consolidates activities previously funded under three separate initiatives: Explore and Create: Concept to Realization, Supporting Artistic Practice: Sector Innovation and Development, and Arts Across Canada: Public Outreach. Applications are viewed, submitted and managed in the Council's client portal, which requires a validated applicant profile.

Who can apply

  • Domestic applicants
  • Medium: Mixed Media
  • Entry fee: See official site
  • Applicants must have a validated applicant profile in the Canada Council client portal and must meet the eligibility criteria set out in that profile. For individuals and groups this typically includes past learning or training, past compensation for arts activities, a commitment to a career in the arts, and recognition by other artists or arts workers. For organizations it typically includes incorporation as a non-profit, an arts-related mandate, a history of arts activities and a history of paying professional fees and royalties. Activities proposed by someone younger than 18 years old are not eligible, nor are fundraising activities, prizes and awards ceremonies, contributions to endowment funds, or activities related to accredited educational programs. Each funding opportunity also sets its own eligible applicants, activities and expenses, published in the portal.
