About this call
Gasworks in London, United Kingdom, supported by Upė Foundation, offers an eleven-week, fully funded residency from 7 July to 21 September 2027 for a contemporary visual artist at a pivotal stage in their career based in Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia, followed by a solo exhibition at Gasworks in July to September 2028. The residency is self-led, non-prescriptive and process-based, with time and space to develop work, research, engage with the city and build networks; the artist works in dialogue with Gasworks and the Upė Foundation Curatorial Fellow. The selected artist receives a 24-hour private studio, a single room in Gasworks' shared Residency House, economy return flights and taxi transfers, all visa costs and support, a weekly stipend of GBP 175, a materials budget of up to GBP 800, a London travel card for zones 1 and 2, studio visits, an Open Studio event and staff support. Applications are a single PDF of up to 15MB with a cover sheet, two 250-word statements (practice and residency plans), up to 15 images or clips and a CV. Shortlisted artists are interviewed online in the week beginning 15 March 2027.
