Bellamilla Open Call 01/2026: Solo Exhibition for an Early-Career Artist

About this call

Bellamilla, a platform in São Paulo, Brazil, that promotes dialogue between artists, curators, collectors, critics and the public, is selecting one early-career artist for a solo exhibition planned for April 2027 at its space on Rua Augusta. The selected artist receives the Prêmio Bellamilla de Estímulo à Trajetória Artística of R$1,000, along with curatorial support, production and organisation of the show, promotional content, and a public talk at the opening. Founder Beatriz Albuquerque runs the selection in two stages: a portfolio review from 20 December 2026 to 10 January 2027, then online interviews from 10 to 30 January 2027; the result is announced on 1 February 2027.

• Applicants must meet all of these: live in the city of São Paulo; have up to five years of artistic career, counted from the first participation in an exhibition open to the public; have taken part in at most five exhibitions, solo or group; and work in painting, photography or sculpture (work in other languages may appear in the portfolio but is not considered). Apply free of charge, only through the form at bellamilla.art/edital, with personal and contact details, a short presentation of your artistic path, an up-to-date portfolio (.pdf or .pptx) and information on exhibitions you have taken part in, if any. Incomplete applications are not considered. The selected artist is responsible for transporting the works to the space and collecting them (delivery planned for 15 March 2027 at Rua Augusta, 101, room 904, collection on 30 May 2027), takes part in a photo and video shoot on the delivery date, must attend the whole opening (24 April 2027) and its public talk, and fills in a loan form stating which works are for sale and at what price. The award does not mean acquisition of the works.
