About this call

Southwest Contemporary is seeking artists based in the North American Southwest (Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and Utah in the United States, and northern Mexico) for its Spring-Summer 2027 print issue, Volume 15: Fire. The call is for work in any medium touched by or reflecting on the metaphorical, material or ecological effects of fire, from fire ecologies and ritual to kilns, forges and wildfire. The guest juror is Apsara DiQuinzio, chief curator at the Nevada Museum of Art. Artists are notified by the end of December 2026 and the issue is published in April 2027.
