ExtrArtis Call for Artist Residency, 5th Edition 2026

About this call

ExtrArtis invites artists active in the visual arts to its fifth artist residency, held at Relais La Rupe, an eighteenth-century villa in Sorrento, Italy, during Art Days Napoli Campania. Four residency places are offered. Selected artists stay free of charge in suites at the villa from 30 November to 9 December 2026 and produce at least two physical artworks inspired by the residence, the local community and the city: one placed in their suite and one in the park facing it. Each receives EUR 500, inclusive of material costs, and an exhibition from 9 December 2026 to 9 January 2027 at Relais La Rupe and permanently on the ExtrArtis website.

Who can apply

• Open to applicants of any nationality
• Medium: Painting / Sculpture / Photography / Textile / Performance / New Media
• Entry fee: €20
• Open to artists active in the visual arts (painters, sculptors, photographers, fiber artists, performers, new media artists, workshop-based practitioners, etc.) who are willing to travel to the residency. Mandatory, non-refundable registration fee of EUR 20, paid by PayPal or bank transfer. Send one PDF to info@extrartis.com with: a copy of a valid ID and a CV of max. 1 page with email and social media contacts; a portfolio of no more than 10 works from recent years (JPG images) with a brief description of your work and method; a descriptive and visual text on the two or more artworks of your Artistic Proposal; an optional motivation letter (max. 1 page); proof of payment. Applications are assessed in Italian or English (translation software may be used). Selected artists must produce at least two physical artworks, completed by the end of the residency (30 November to 9 December 2026). All works of the Artistic Proposal and all rights connected to them, excluding moral rights, are transferred to Royal Lions S.r.l., organiser of ExtrArtis. Results are announced on 10 November 2026.
