About this call
ArtLaunch, a Canadian not-for-profit, invites next-generation Canadian artists aged 18 to 29 to submit artwork for a series of Instagram features in collaboration with Birks, the Canadian jeweller. Six selected artists will each have one artwork featured on Birks' Instagram channel, one artist a month from January to June 2027. The theme is artwork inspired by Canada: its landscapes, places, culture, people and identity, interpreted in the artist's own way. Accepted media are painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, collage, textile work, mixed media and digital artwork; existing work is encouraged. Selection is made solely by Birks. Artists keep ownership and copyright, and selected artists sign an artist-venue agreement before publication. This is a digital feature, not a physical exhibition or artwork sale.

- Artists must be between 18 and 29 at the time of submission and currently reside in Canada or be Canadian citizens. Up to three artworks per artist; work must be original to the artist, inspired by Canada, suitable for a broad public audience and clear as a digital image on a phone screen. Accepted media: painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, collage, textile work, mixed media and digital artwork. Artwork with third-party trademarks, logos, brand names or copyrighted imagery will not be considered; artwork with identifiable people only with any required permission. ArtLaunch does not accept AI-generated artwork. Provide full name, display name, city and province or territory, email, artist bio, artist statement or short description, and title, year, medium and dimensions of each work; age and an inquiry link are optional. Selected artists must sign an artist-venue agreement within 2 days of acceptance notification; artists keep ownership and copyright, and Birks may crop, resize or adjust the image for Instagram. Submission confirmation by Nov 19; Birks selects one artist each month from January to June 2027.
