About this call

Arctic Canvas, a creative retreat and artist residency in Snæfellsnes, Iceland, opens its annual Open Call with guest curator Robert Raths, founder of the London-based record label Erased Tapes. This year's call focuses on sound and music and welcomes musicians, composers, producers, sound artists and interdisciplinary artists working with sound and music, across all genres and formats. One artist or artist duo will spend two weeks, 18 to 31 March 2027, in the private live/work Arctic Canvas Studio, with the stay covered; the residency is self-directed and self-catered. Any stage of a project is welcome. Depending on the project, Arctic Canvas may co-host an Instagram Live and look for ways to connect the artist with venues, organisations and collaborators in Reykjavík and locally.
