About this call
ANCA Inc. is seeking proposals from local and interstate artists, curators and creative practitioners for solo and group exhibitions in its 2027 gallery program, which runs February to November. ANCA Gallery is a 75m2 project space at the center of ANCA Inc's Dickson studio campus in Canberra, Australia, which has opened over 400 exhibitions. ANCA is primarily interested in work that has not been exhibited previously, or that presents existing works in a new context. Exhibitions are open to the public Thursday through Saturday for six weeks, with a public opening. Proposals are assessed by a panel of artists and arts professionals on proposal quality, originality and urgency, demonstrated ability to undertake the proposed activities, and understanding of the contexts and history of the medium.

- Open to local (ACT) and interstate artists, curators and creative practitioners in Australia; solo and group proposals. Submit just one proposal, online only (no hard copy); late applications are not accepted. The form asks for a bio of up to 150 words and a statement of up to 150 words (third person), website, CV, an exhibition proposal of up to 500 words and up to 10 supporting files (images, PDFs, video, audio) labelled name_title_year_imagecourtesy. Successful applicants are notified in December with a proposed 2027 timeslot. Showing is free; ANCA takes a 20% commission on sales and does not pay exhibitors (it provides a signed letter of support for funding applications). Exhibitors cover all costs of transport, install and deinstall, have two full days to install, must sit the gallery (or find someone to) on Saturdays 11am to 4pm for the duration of the exhibition, patch and paint the walls after any changes, return promotional text 3 months before opening and deliver a list of works after installing. Specialised equipment must be sourced by the exhibitor. ANCA does not insure artworks in transit or during the exhibition. The application page does not state an application fee.
