About this call

HMVC Gallery New York invites artists who treat color as their power source to submit work for Vibrant Visions 3, its November online group show. The gallery is looking for artworks that burst off the wall, ignite curiosity and bring heat to the cool season, whether they radiate neon intensity, lush saturation or unexpected chromatic twists. Juror Heini Mika judges the entries, and one artwork from each selected artist is included in the show. All participating artists are featured on the gallery's website and virtual gallery and receive a certificate of participation, and a video of the show featuring every participating artwork will be screened on a jumbotron billboard in Times Square later in November. The Best of Show winner receives $150, the second place winner $100, and the third place winner a one-month online solo show with a solo certificate. Notifications are sent by October 31 and the show premieres on November 1.

Who can apply

  • Open to applicants of any nationality
  • Medium: Painting / Drawing / Photography / Mixed Media / Printmaking
  • Entry fee: $40
  • Open to artists 18 or older working in all mediums of visual art except AI-created art and video/film; duos, collaborations and collectives may apply, naming every artist. Submit high-quality images that fit the theme, an Artist Bio and an Artist Statement in English (each up to 300 words); up to 11 artworks may be submitted and one artwork from each selected artist is included in the show. Images: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG or WEBP, 1200 to 2560 pixels on the longest side, under 2 MB. Submission fee: $40 for the first image and $10 for each additional image, non-refundable and no guarantee of acceptance. Applications cannot be edited after submission. The juror's decision is final. Cash prize winners need a working PayPal account or must give an address for a physical check, otherwise the prize is forfeited. Selected artists may sell their work through the gallery, which takes a 10% commission; the artist ships a sold work to the buyer. Applicants agree that the gallery may use images of accepted work to promote its online exhibitions, with full credit and copyright remaining with the artist.
