About this call
The Leonard A. Lauder Research Center for Modern Art at The Met offers four annual fellowships: a two-year Pre-Doctoral, a one- or two-year Post-Doctoral, a one-year Mid-Career, and a one-year Non-Residential Doctoral Dissertation Completion Fellowship. Fellows conduct focused independent research while contributing to the Research Center's life. The Center is the only one for modern art scholarship located in an encyclopedic museum.

- Pre-Doctoral: currently enrolled PhD students. Post-Doctoral: PhD received within 7 years. Mid-Career: established scholars with commensurate publication record. All projects must focus on modern art (late 19th century through 1960s). Submit online in English: 1,000-word research proposal, 500-word critical bibliography, 500-word personal statement, work schedule, travel schedule, CV, 3 academic recommendation letters, and transcripts (Pre-Doctoral only). International applicants from any accredited university welcome.
