About this call

The Fellowship for Utopian Practice by Culture Push is a process-based program supporting new, socially engaged work that connects artistic practice, civic engagement, and social justice. Six to eight fellows are selected annually to develop projects that take place within a specific New York City neighborhood or community, are interactive, and engage the public. The fellowship runs for one calendar year, January through December.

  • Applicants must have at least 3 years of experience in their field. Currently enrolled undergraduates are ineligible. Projects must be new (no prior institutional support), take place within NYC's five boroughs, be interactive and engage the public, and consist of a series of events or actions (not exhibitions). Residency within commuting distance of the five boroughs is required.
