About this call

hinterconti e.V. in Hamburg, Germany, is looking for artists for the exhibition "Broken Screens", on view from 20 to 22 November 2026. The exhibition looks at the interplay between how bodies are represented in (a-)social media culture and emotional responses such as disappointment, self-doubt and disillusionment: the body as a projection surface whose idealisation through filters makes the "real" body disappear. Its central question is how digital self-presentation changes our physical self-image, and what remains when the digital mirror slips from our hand and shatters. The opening is on 20 November 2026 at 7 p.m. and the closing event on 22 November 2026 at 3 p.m. The project is supported by the Hamburg Ministry of Culture and Media.
