Inspiration Benin Residency: At the Heart of African Worlds
About this call
The Embassy of France in Benin opens the third edition of Inspiration Benin, At the Heart of African Worlds, a residency for French-speaking artists from anywhere in the world. The programme sends an artist to Benin for at least six weeks between 15 November 2026 and 30 April 2027 to develop a project rooted in the country's contemporary cultural landscape. Every applicant works with a Beninese partner who helps host the residency, opens local networks and shares expertise, and the partner receives a dedicated allocation of their own. The residency covers visual arts as well as new writing for the stage, including theatre, dance and performance. Applications are handled entirely on the inspirationbenin.com platform, and previous editions are published there so candidates can avoid repeating an angle that has already been explored.
