eidolon Grant 2026
About this call
Eidolon Centre for Everyday Photography, based in Budapest, has opened the third edition of the eidolon Grant, its international programme for projects that explore, promote and conserve vernacular photography. Applications are made under two categories: contemporary everyday photographic cultures, and everyday photographs of the past. A total of 25.000 eur will be distributed across the two categories, and the number of winners is decided on the basis of the applications received. Grant money can be spent freely on the implementers' fees, travel, preparation and production costs and payments to partners, and reaches winners in three or four installments. Suggested outputs include long essays and article series for the eidolon journal, English translations of significant publications on everyday imaging, original books, multimedia and site specific works, workshops, short documentaries and video essays, exhibitions, talks and masterclasses. The call is open to artists, academics, professionals, researchers, collectors and enthusiasts, with individual and group applications both welcome, and there is no entry fee. Applications are submitted in English through a Typeform page by September 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m., and winners are announced on November 10, 2026.
