About this call

Lothringer 13 Halle, in cooperation with Artist-in-Residence Munich, is offering three transdisciplinary residencies for professional cultural workers whose practice sits at the intersection of art, journalism, and curating. Held at Ebenboeckhaus in Munich from 8 January to 26 March 2027, the residency is part of the research and exhibition project Curating Journalism, which treats press freedom and artistic freedom as complementary conditions of a democratic public sphere. Residents develop independent, research-based or investigative projects that connect journalistic, curatorial, and artistic practice, culminating in a public event at Ebenboeckhaus and a presentation as part of the wider project at Lothringer 13 Halle. Each resident receives a monthly stipend of EUR 1,400, production funding of up to EUR 1,400, free accommodation at Ebenboeckhaus, and travel reimbursement of up to EUR 350 within Europe. Applicants must have their primary residence within Europe, outside Bavaria, and demonstrate an independent professional practice in art, journalism, curating, or a related transdisciplinary field. Applications must be submitted in English by the deadline; collectives and previous Ebenboeckhaus or Villa Waldberta residents are not eligible.
