Camino Al Arte Open Residency, Fall 2026
About this call
Camino al Arte is a non profit civil association based in Atotonilco, a historic town about fifteen minutes from San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Its Open Residency is a self guided program for writers, artists and creatives who want time, space and a genuine link to a rural Mexican community. Residents stay for two to eight weeks between September 20 and December 19, 2026, and only two full time residents are hosted at a time. Those staying three weeks or longer are encouraged to join the art activities the organization runs periodically, and are invited to give a workshop, creative project or talk for the local community. Applications are reviewed by a group of representatives from the local art community. Note that the residency is self funded at 1,000 USD per week; applying itself costs nothing, but there is no stipend and financial support is described as limited.
