About this call
The Sony World Photography Awards, run by the World Photography Organisation, are free to enter. The Single Image competition takes up to three single images taken in 2026 across ten categories and closes on 5 January 2027 at 16.00 GMT; the overall winner receives $5,000 and Sony Digital Imaging equipment. The Series competition takes a series of 5 to 10 images per category and closes on 12 January 2027 at 16.00 GMT; the Photographer of the Year receives $25,000, Sony equipment and a solo presentation at the Sony World Photography Awards London exhibition the following year. Category winners are flown to the awards ceremony in London, and winners and shortlisted photographers are included in the book and exhibition.

- Single Image: open to all members of the public; up to three images taken in 2026, free (more images through paid bundles). Series: open to all photographers entering a body of work, entrants must be over 18; 5 to 10 images per category with a series description, published between 1 January 2026 and 12 January 2027 or unpublished. Entrants under 16 need parental consent. The Student competition (ages 18 to 30, registered university) closes on 27 November 2026; the Youth competition (under 19) closes on 5 January 2027.
