Voetvolk Atelier Rubigny (V.A.R) Artist Residencies 2027

About this call

Voetvolk Atelier Rubigny (V.A.R.), founded in 2021 in a renovated former farmhouse in the rural landscape of Rubigny in the French Ardennes, opens its 2027 residencies. Voetvolk is a contemporary dance and performance group founded in Belgium in 2007. V.A.R. offers space for artistic creation, research and collaboration in music, dance, performance and writing, and welcomes emerging and established artists, collectives and companies working across all artistic disciplines. Residents have full access to a studio equipped with a sound system, accommodation, financial support of up to €500 per project, and a possible showing of a work in progress at the Rubirock festival. Residency periods run in April and May 2027, with additional dates in July, September and October 2027.

• Open to emerging and established artists, collectives and companies working across all artistic disciplines; V.A.R. offers space for creation, research and collaboration in music, dance, performance and writing, and applicants who have not previously held a residency at V.A.R. get particular consideration. Apply by email to rubigny@voetvolk.be with the subject "Application - V.A.R. Artist Residencies 2027" by 1 December 2026, including: your name and the name of your collective or company (if applicable); your artistic discipline(s); a short project description (1 page max.); a CV or overview of recent projects; demonstration materials (video, photos, etc.) as a web address with password if needed; how many people will be in the residency; and your preferred residency period(s). Available periods: 5 to 11 April, 16 to 23 April, 7 to 14 May and 21 to 28 May 2027, with more dates in July, September and October 2027. The €500 support is paid on submission of an invoice or supporting documents. V.A.R. is not accessible by public transport. Applicants will be contacted on 4 January 2027.
