FIBA Photo Contest 2026: The 10th Edition

About this call

The FIBA Foundation, constituted under Swiss law, runs the 10th edition of the FIBA Photo Contest, inviting professional and amateur photographers to celebrate basketball. For the first time there are three categories: Elite Basketball, Community Basketball and Vintage Basketball, the last for images taken any time in the past through to the early 2000s. Each category winner receives photographic equipment with an estimated value of CHF 2,000, publication in the FIBA Photo Book 2026 and on FIBA Foundation and FIBA social media, and a diploma; the FIBA Shot of the Year, chosen among the three category winners, wins a five-day FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Photographer Experience with travel and accommodation included. Participants agree that their photos will be exhibited at the House of Basketball, FIBA's world headquarters.

• Open to everyone regardless of age, nationality and country of residence; minors must attach a parent's or legal guardian's prior approval document. Up to five photos per participant, related to one or more categories, JPEG, at least 1500px, no text, logos or description over the image; give your name, date of birth, nationality and biography, and each image's title, year and place of creation and description. Submit online only. Drawings, illustrations, computer-made or assisted pictures and images generated or altered with AI are not eligible; only saturation, contrast, sharpness, colour temperature, white and colour balance and noise reduction may be adjusted. Photos taken during FIBA events or on a FIBA or FIBA Foundation designation or assignment are not considered; photos with inappropriate, promotional or commercial content are excluded, and people shown must have given their authorisation where privacy or personal rights apply. Outside the Vintage category every photo must be your own; a Vintage photo may be by another person only if you are its copyright owner, the lawful heir or successor, the owner by valid transfer, or expressly authorised in writing by the copyright owner (possessing a copy is not enough, and photos whose photographer or copyright owner is unknown are not eligible). Entrants irrevocably grant FIBA Foundation and FIBA perpetual rights to use their photos, including commercially, without compensation. Winners are announced in December 2026.
