About this call
The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA), Public Art Division, is seeking professional artists for its 2026 Prequalified Roster of Artists for the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) Expansion and Modernization Project in Downtown Los Angeles, United States. The expansion adds a new exhibit hall bridging Pico Boulevard, meeting rooms, an atrium lobby, a rooftop ballroom and an open-air garden, and a Curatorial Committee will lead the City's first permanent public art exhibition at interior and exterior sites across the campus. A selection panel will choose up to 50 artists and artist teams for the roster, which stays active for three years with a possible one-year renewal. As each project starts, up to four roster artists are shortlisted and invited to develop a proposal; DCA expects to award up to 20 commissions, with all-inclusive budgets of $100,000 to $1,000,000 set at the proposal stage. Being on the roster does not guarantee a commission. Projects are expected to be completed by Spring 2029.
