About this call
Fabula Works is seeking two photographers for its first exhibition of 2027, held at Millepiani in Rome, Italy, from 29 January to 31 March 2027, with an opening reception on 29 January 2027. The theme is "Lines", to be explored in any direction; all genres are welcome. The organizers are looking for work that makes viewers look twice, through an unexpected subject, an unusual visual language or a fresh way of organising what is seen. The guest juror is photojournalist Eric Bouvet. Printing and exhibition promotion are fully covered for the selected artists, and the organizers may present a solo exhibition if a submission shows particularly strong artistic merit.
Who can apply
- Open to applicants of any nationality
- Medium: Photography
- Entry fee: €25
- Open to any living person aged 18 or older, regardless of country of residence and nationality. Submit one PDF (max. 10 MB) with 10 to 25 photographs (only the first 25 are reviewed), plus a biography and artist statement (max. 1500 words), through the submission form on the call page; entries sent by other means, such as email, are not considered. Photographs must be your own, captured with a camera within ten years before the deadline; fully AI-generated images are not allowed, light retouching (including AI-assisted editing) of your own photographs is permitted. Submissions in English or French. A non-refundable contribution of 25 EUR is paid first and the payment receipt is uploaded with the submission form. Collective submissions are accepted from collaborators with an established, ongoing collaboration and a cohesive body of work developed before the call. Selected photographers are notified by email about six weeks before the opening and must provide high-resolution files within 10 calendar days; those not selected are not notified individually. Attending is not required; selected artists who attend pay their own travel, accommodation, visa fees and travel and medical insurance. A selected photographer who withdraws after confirming must reimburse costs already incurred. Selected artists may keep their prints: shipping costs 80 to 180 EUR, or prints can be collected in person by appointment at no cost.
