About this call
The City of Aveiro, Portugal, invites two artists to a 19-day residency from 23 November to 11 December 2026 as part of the "Boas Festas" cultural programme for Christmas and New Year, which includes concerts, performances and installations across the city's cultural spaces and mainly its public space. The call is for visual artists, with a particular focus on public space, light and sound installations and performance art, and on projects that combine disciplines and media. Works may be interventions or ephemeral actions, their form and location decided with the curators, and artists should work with sensitivity to Aveiro's historical centre and local traditions and be open to collaborating with the local community. The residency is part of the CreArt 3.0 project, co-financed by the European Union.
