BROILER Residency: Spring 2027 Season

About this call

BROILER is Oracle Egg's residency series in Los Angeles, curated by Melissa Achten and Eli Klausner, and it supports the development of ambitious new work in sound-centered performance. The open call is for the spring 2027 season, with residencies taking place between January and May 2027. The programme prioritises large-scale projects that challenge form, expand sonic language and take risks in process, structure and presentation. Residencies are awarded to projects at one of two stages: brand-new works being developed from scratch, or works already in active development that will benefit from concentrated time in the space. Selected projects are granted anywhere from three to fourteen days, depending on their scope and scale. Support includes full access to the space, production guidance and high quality documentation, and every residency culminates in a ticketed public performance at Oracle Egg's venue on Maple Avenue in downtown Los Angeles. The application is a single online form and closes at 11:59pm Pacific time on 15 October 2026. The curators review and respond to every proposal, but because of the volume of submissions they are not able to give individual feedback.
