2027 ACC NEXT Emerging Asian Artists International Open Call

About this call

The Asia Culture Center (ACC) in Gwangju, South Korea invites emerging Asian artists to apply for the 2027 ACC NEXT program with experimental works on the theme of prototype, exploring the intersection of art and technology. Accepted media include interactive installations using physical computing or sensors, generative video and image, kinetic and robotic art, and immersive extended reality (XR). Applicants must be Asian nationals born on or after January 1, 1987 with a qualifying exhibition record.

• Applicants should be nationals of an Asian country born on or after January 1, 1987 (under 40 as of 2026), though artists born or raised in Asia may also be considered regardless of nationality when their practice engages deeply with the cultural, social and historical identities of Asia. Must have held at least one solo exhibition, participated in at least one exhibition at a national or public art museum, or participated in at least three group exhibitions. Must be available for installation and opening. Must be eligible for a Korean visa. Submit via ACC website: application form, technical rider, and portfolio as PDFs (max 50 MB per file). Submission window: October 1 to October 25, 2026, 11:59 p.m. KST.
