About this call

Vrrraimant! is a contemporary drawing festival built as a weekend of collective improvisation where graphic art, music and performance run into each other. metaxu, an artist-run space in Toulon, stages the 15th edition on 23, 24 and 25 October 2026 on the Place du Globe in the centre of town. Ten drawers and performers are selected alongside musicians, and together they turn the square into one continuous open-air studio in front of a public that is present the whole time and pays nothing to watch. Artists work at their own pace across large formats, small formats, digital drawings and pocket notebooks, however they like; a photocopier on site lets a fanzine grow out of the weekend. A music programme is arranged in advance, but the exchanges between drawing and sound are planned freely as they happen. The organisers impose no creative constraint at all, and ask only that artists commit to the sustained experience and to sharing practices.

  • The selection is made by a jury of contemporary art professionals together with the metaxu team.
