ORAC Gallery Open Call: Artist Selection for Spectrum Chicago 2026
About this call
ORAC Gallery, run by ORACART sp. z o.o. out of Nowolipki 27 in Warsaw, is picking one artist to present inside its booth at Spectrum Chicago 2026, held at THE MART in Chicago from 7 to 10 October 2026. The gallery is explicit that this is not a competition and not a ranking of artistic value; it is a selection for one specific booth, judged on how well a practice fits an international fair context. Criteria include artistic quality and coherence, suitability of the proposed works for a fair, visual strength, price positioning and market readiness, logistical feasibility down to dimensions and weight, and the artist's ability to work alongside the gallery. Personal attendance in Chicago is not required, since the gallery represents the artist and the works throughout the fair. Applications may be reviewed on a rolling basis and the call can close early once the artist is confirmed.

- The call is intended for artists with a developed professional practice and works suitable for an international contemporary art fair. Each application includes a CV, a short biography, an artist statement, a portfolio, and up to four proposed works with title, year, medium, dimensions and selling price for each, plus availability, framing, weight and shipping information and professional links. At least one proposed work must be physically available for presentation in Chicago. One 20 euro fee covers the whole application regardless of how many works are submitted, and it is charged for administration, formal verification and professional review rather than as any guarantee of selection. Incomplete applications or ones without confirmed payment may not enter the selection. Because the fair is close, selected artists should be ready to move on logistics immediately; works presented must be available for sale unless the gallery agrees otherwise, and commission is settled in the participation agreement.
