Galerie Vendome Open Call: L'Odyssee, a Group Illustration Exhibition
About this call
The city of Clichy-la-Garenne invites emerging illustrators to build a group exhibition around the odyssey of Homer, timed to accompany the opening of the municipal complex L'Odyssee. Artists are asked to follow the journey of Ulysses and pick out an episode, a moment of rupture or a lived experience that exposes how tangled human emotion and behaviour really are, the torments and the darker impulses that surface along the way. Galerie Vendome sits on the ground floor of the Pavillon Vendome in the middle of Clichy, a municipal space given over to contemporary work a short distance from Paris. Every exhibition there is supported by the visual arts team of the Cultural Affairs Department, who work with the artists on producing the show and on shaping its curatorial direction. Five wall spaces are on offer, four made of three small wall panels each and one a single large panel.
