Patchwork: An exhibition inspired by quilts, quilt motifs, and the art of piecing things together
About this call
Kinhouse Art is assembling a group show built around the quilt, taken as object, as technique and as visual language. Artists can respond with a finished quilt, with piecing, appliqué or stitching applied to any medium, or with grid and block based composition that never touches fibre at all. There are no material restrictions as long as the work speaks to one of those three threads, and submissions dealing with pattern, texture, colour relationships, scrap and reuse are singled out as especially welcome. Every entry is considered both for the gallery show in Fort Wayne and for the Patchwork Catalog, a printed book that pairs curator commentary with high quality images of selected work. The exhibition runs 2 to 30 October 2026 and opens during the Arts This Way Broadway Arts Festival, which draws thousands of visitors that weekend. Artists cover shipping both ways and receive a 20 dollar stipend toward it; sales carry a 20 percent gallery commission. Because of current international shipping conditions this round is limited to artists sending work to and from addresses in the United States and Canada.
